Taj Lalit Bagh is a Taj hotel on the Dabok–Mavli Road at Naharmagra, Udaipur, built around a centuries-old estate whose ancient stepwell is still a source of water for the property. It has 155 rooms and suites and 13 event spaces, from boardrooms to the 3,925 sq m Raj Van lawn for 1,200 guests, and it is 15 minutes from Udaipur’s airport. This guide answers the questions families ask before they book it for a wedding.

Taj Lalit Bagh is on the Dabok–Mavli Road at Naharmagra, on the airport side of Udaipur. Maharana Pratap Airport (UDR) at Dabok, 22 km east of the city, is 15 minutes away, so guests reach the hotel soon after landing.
The trade-off is distance from the lakes. By the hotel’s own figures, the old city, Jagdish Temple and Bagore ki Haveli are 22 km away, and the City Palace on Lake Pichola is 26 km. Fateh Sagar Lake is also in the city, so a boat ride or a City Palace visit becomes a half-day outing with transfers. Menar Lake, where the hotel runs dawn birdwatching walks, is 33 km away.

Taj describes Lalit Bagh as a centuries-old estate of pleasure gardens, themed courtyards and pavilions. Its ancient stepwell remains a perennial source of water, the Swarn Van lawn is anchored by a Shiv temple, and some rooms look over the heritage museum and the Durbar Chowk courtyard. Jharokhas, jaali arches and marble detailing run through the venues, so photographers work with courtyards and gardens rather than a single ballroom backdrop.

155: 139 rooms and 16 suites, most for up to three guests. At two per room that is about 310 staying guests, enough to keep a wedding of 250 to 300 guests in one place.

Taj lists 13 event spaces: two lawns, a ballroom with two pre-function areas, five courtyards and gardens, and three boardrooms. The sizes and capacities below are the hotel’s own.
The boardrooms, Chittor (16), Chawand (14) and Nagda (5), are useful as the planning office and family green rooms.

For the wedding meals, IWP brings Indian chefs to work with the hotel kitchen, flies in a pandit and builds the mandap; fire, fireworks, music hours and the baraat are agreed with the hotel in advance.

J Wellness Circle is the Taj spa, offering holistic therapies rooted in age-old healing traditions. The outdoor pool sits among landscaped gardens and courtyards with views of the Aravalli hills, and there is a separate kids’ pool, a fitness centre and morning yoga. For wedding families that means pre-wedding treatments and a quiet morning between functions without leaving the estate.

These are IWP’s indicative, all-inclusive bands (venue and rooms, food and beverage, décor and production, entertainment, guest logistics and planning), which we price exactly for your dates:
What moves the number here: the date (October to March is peak), the number of nights, a full buyout versus sharing the hotel, the number of functions and the scale of décor on the lawns. Compare wedding costs across Udaipur venues.

In 2027 there are no Hindu muhurats from August to October; November (11 dates, from 10 November), December (6, from 7 to 14 December), January (9, from 15 January), February (13) and March (7, up to 14 March) give 46 dates inside the season. The hotel is 15 minutes from Maharana Pratap Airport (UDR) at Dabok. It is on the airport side of the city, so by the hotel’s own figures the old city and Jagdish Temple are 22 km away and the City Palace on Lake Pichola 26 km. Plan lake and palace visits as half-day outings.
Raj Van (3,925 sq m; up to 1,200) and Swarn Van (2,793 sq m; up to 800) are the lawns, and Pratap Hall (570 sq m; up to 400 theatre-style) is the ballroom, with the Sanga and Kumbha pre-function areas. Five courtyards and gardens, including Utsav Chowk (up to 100), suit mehendi and smaller functions.
IWP’s indicative, all-inclusive bands are from about ₹1 crore (US$105,000) for 50–100 guests over 2 days, ₹3–5 crore (US$315,000–525,000) for 150–250 guests over 3 days, and ₹7–10 crore (US$725,000–1.05 million) for 300–500 guests over 4 days.
