IWP arranges a destination wedding in Mussoorie across three hotels in Uttarakhand’s best-known hill station, above the Doon Valley. Two are large resort-style hotels built around an indoor ballroom, and the third is a 19th-century colonial-era property now run as a Welcomhotel in the centre of town. All three offer banquet halls and lawns built for Indian wedding functions at altitude. This page covers their rooms and venues, what a wedding here costs, the best months in the hills, and getting to Mussoorie from India and abroad.
IWP lists three wedding venues in Mussoorie, from a 135-room resort to an 80-room heritage hotel:
| Venue | Setting | Rooms | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jaypee Residency Manor | Barlowganj, above Mussoorie | 135 rooms | The largest room block of the three, for bigger guest lists |
| JW Marriott Mussoorie Walnut Grove Resort & Spa | Kempty Fall Road | 116 rooms | Ballroom-led weddings, with six indoor venues plus lawns |
| The Savoy - Stately Manor Hotel | Gandhi Chowk, central Mussoorie | 80 rooms | Heritage weddings across five indoor and outdoor venues |
JW Marriott Mussoorie Walnut Grove has the most event space of the three: six indoor rooms led by the 1,092 sq m Grand Orchard Ballroom, which takes up to 275 guests for a reception, plus the JW Lawn and an amphitheatre outdoors. The Savoy, reopened as a Welcomhotel, offers three indoor spaces and two outdoor lawns for up to 500 guests. Jaypee Residency Manor has the largest room block for guest accommodation. IWP’s planners work with each hotel’s team on the mandap, baraat and hill-station logistics, including marquees for any function that needs cover from Mussoorie’s weather.
These are IWP’s indicative, all-inclusive bands (venue and rooms, food and beverage, décor and production, entertainment, guest logistics and planning), which we price exactly for your dates:
At JW Marriott Walnut Grove, the main swing factors are whether you take the Grand Orchard Ballroom exclusively, how many of its 116 rooms you block, and how many of the six indoor venues you use across the stay. The Savoy and Jaypee Residency Manor price mainly on room-block size and number of functions. Hill-station logistics, such as heated marquees in winter or generator backup during monsoon, also move the final figure. We price every wedding against your exact dates.
Mussoorie is most reliable from April to June, when days run 10–25°C and the escape from plains heat brings the town its peak season, and again from September to November, a clearer window after the rains. July to September is monsoon, with heavy rain and a landslide risk that makes outdoor functions unreliable; December to February brings snow, and roads around Mussoorie can be blocked into February, so IWP recommends April–June or September–November for a wedding here. Of IWP’s 95 Hindu wedding dates for 2027, 55 fall inside this window: 9 in April (18–28 April), 19 in May, 16 in June and 11 in November (from 10 November); September and October carry no muhurat dates, falling within Chaturmas. See the Hindu wedding dates of 2027.
Dehradun’s Jolly Grant Airport (DED) is about 60 km from Mussoorie by road. Delhi (DEL) is the main international gateway for NRI and overseas guests, who connect onward to Dehradun by domestic flight or by train to Dehradun railway station before the road transfer into the hills. Guests on foreign passports need an Indian visa or e-Visa; OCI holders do not. IWP’s planners arrange transfers for the wedding party from the airport or railway station.
Three: Jaypee Residency Manor (135 rooms), JW Marriott Mussoorie Walnut Grove Resort & Spa (116 rooms) and The Savoy - Stately Manor Hotel (80 rooms), all within or just above the main hill station.
Jaypee Residency Manor has the largest room block at 135 rooms, and JW Marriott Mussoorie Walnut Grove has the most event space, with six indoor venues led by a 1,092 sq m ballroom taking up to 275 guests.
IWP’s indicative all-inclusive bands run from about ₹1 crore (US$105,000) for 50–100 guests to ₹7–10 crore (US$725,000–1.05 million) for 300–500 guests, and ₹10 crore and above for a full buyout. We price every wedding against your exact dates.
April to June and September to November, avoiding the July–September monsoon and the snow and road closures that can run December to February. This window holds 55 of IWP’s 95 Hindu muhurat dates for 2027.
Dehradun’s Jolly Grant Airport (DED) is about 60 km away by road; Delhi is the main international gateway for overseas guests, connecting onward by air or train to Dehradun. Foreign passport holders need an Indian visa or e-Visa; OCI holders do not.
Yes. IWP brings Indian chefs to work with the hotel kitchen, flies in a pandit and builds the mandap; fire, fireworks, music hours and the baraat are agreed with the hotel in advance.
