IWP arranges a destination wedding in Jodhpur across six hotels in and around the Blue City: a former royal residence, three more heritage properties run by the Taj, ITC and independent groups, a contemporary hotel near the city centre and, 95 km away, a 16th-century desert fort at Khimsar. The five in the city combine Jodhpur’s blue-washed old town and Mehrangarh Fort backdrop with indoor banquet halls and outdoor lawns built for large Indian weddings. This page covers their rooms and venues, what a wedding here costs, the best months in the desert, and getting to Jodhpur from India and abroad.

Wedding venues in Jodhpur: rooms and capacity

Umaid Bhawan Palace has the widest spread of venues of any IWP property in India, with four indoor and six outdoor spaces across 26 acres of gardens; Welcomhotel’s Mandore Lawn-3 alone is built for up to 3,000 guests, part of what ITC calls Rajasthan’s largest hotel convention infrastructure. Taj Hari Mahal and Radisson sit centrally on Residency Road for guests who want to stay close to the old city, while Ajit Bhawan, the smallest of the six, suits an intimate heritage wedding. Khimsar Fort & Dunes, 95 km away on the edge of the Thar, pairs a 1523 fort with a dunes village for a desert sangeet, for up to about 180 staying guests. IWP’s planners, based in Jaipur and Mumbai, work with each hotel’s team to arrange the mandap, baraat and Rajasthani entertainment for every wedding.

What a destination wedding in Jodhpur costs

These are IWP’s indicative, all-inclusive bands (venue and rooms, food and beverage, décor and production, entertainment, guest logistics and planning), which we price exactly for your dates:

  • Intimate, 50–100 guests, 2 days: from about ₹1 crore (US$105,000).
  • Premium, 150–250 guests, 3 days: ₹3–5 crore (US$315,000–525,000).
  • Royal, 300–500 guests, 4 days: ₹7–10 crore (US$725,000–1.05 million).
  • Ultra-luxe, 500+ guests or a full-property buyout, 3–4 days: ₹10 crore and above (US$1.05 million+).

The main swing factor in Jodhpur is which type of property you choose: Umaid Bhawan Palace sits at the top of the market as a part-royal-residence buyout; Taj Hari Mahal, Welcomhotel and Radisson price mainly on room-block size, number of functions and whether you take the lawns exclusively; Ajit Bhawan, the smallest property, suits an Intimate or Premium wedding booked outright; Khimsar Fort & Dunes, booked outright for about 180 staying guests, sits in the Premium band. Peak winter dates and a full-property buyout push any of the six towards the upper end of its band. We price every wedding against your exact dates.

Best time for a wedding in Jodhpur

Rajasthan Tourism recommends winter for the state, when “the desert sun is not as intense and the days are pleasant.” In Jodhpur this means October to March: winter (November–February) days run about 7–25°C, with January and December the coolest (lows around 9–12°C); the shoulder months of October and March sit at a pleasant 15–30°C; summer (April–June) is harsh, with highs above 40°C and May the hottest month; the July–September monsoon brings 15–17 rain days. Of IWP’s 95 Hindu wedding dates for 2027, 46 fall inside the October–March window: 11 in November (from 10 November), 6 in December (7–14 December), 9 in January (15–31 January), 13 in February and 7 in March (1–14 March); October itself carries no muhurat date, falling within Chaturmas. See the Hindu wedding dates of 2027.

Getting there (India and abroad)

Jodhpur Airport (JDH) is about 3–4 km from the city centre, one of the closer airport-to-city runs of any IWP destination in India, with direct flights to Delhi and other major Indian cities. Delhi (DEL) is the main international gateway for NRI and overseas guests, connecting onward to Jodhpur by a short domestic flight. Guests on foreign passports need an Indian visa or e-Visa; OCI holders do not. IWP’s planners arrange airport transfers for the wedding party.
