India gives you more wedding settings than any other country: palaces and forts in Rajasthan, beaches in Goa and Kerala, and hill towns from Mussoorie to Coorg. The real work is choosing the destination that fits your guest list and budget, holding the right dates, and getting every guest from the airport to the mandap without a hitch. IWP – Indian Wedding Planners has planned destination weddings across India since 2013 from our offices in Jaipur and Mumbai.

Most couples choose the kind of setting first and the city second. This is how the Indian destinations we plan in fall into place:
| Setting | Best for | Destinations |
|---|---|---|
| Rajasthan palaces and forts | Royal weddings of any size, the widest choice of venues | Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Bikaner |
| Lakes, desert and jungle in Rajasthan | Smaller, themed weddings away from the big cities | Pushkar, Ranthambore, Jhunjhunu |
| Beaches | Sunset pheras, relaxed functions, easy for international guests | Goa, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Mamallapuram, Gopalpur |
| Hills and mountains | Cool-weather weddings, summer dates, smaller guest lists | Mussoorie, Shimla, Dharamshala, Coorg, Srinagar, Gangtok |
| Heritage and city venues | Large guest lists with easy flights and hotel rooms | Agra, Bengaluru, Chennai, Chandigarh |
Not sure which one fits? Our destination wedding guides compare each place on cost, season and travel.
These are the indicative all-inclusive budgets we share at enquiry. They cover the venue and room block, food and beverage, décor and production, entertainment, guest logistics and our planning fee.
| Wedding style | Guests | Celebration | Indicative budget |
|---|---|---|---|
| Intimate | 50–100 | 2 days | from about ₹1 crore (US$105,000) |
| Premium | 150–250 | 3 days | ₹3–5 crore (US$315,000–525,000) |
| Royal | 300–500 | 4 days | ₹7–10 crore (US$725,000–1.05 million) |
| Ultra-luxe | 500+ or a full buyout | 3–4 days | ₹10 crore and above (US$1.05 million+) |
The destination and the date move the budget most. A palace in Jaipur or Udaipur on a peak winter date sits at the top of each band; hill towns and off-season dates come in lower. See venue-by-venue prices for Jaipur, Udaipur and Goa, or our full Indian destination wedding cost guide.
Start at least 6–7 months before the wedding. For a top palace or beach resort between November and February, start 12 months ahead.
Many of our couples live abroad and fly home for the wedding. One senior planner runs your wedding remotely through video calls and live venue tours, and our travel desk handles guest flights, arrivals and visas for non-Indian guests. Check how many years the planner has worked, which venues and cities they have delivered weddings in, whether independent media have featured their work, and whether they give you a written budget before you pay an advance. IWP has planned 250+ weddings since 2013, works with over 110 Indian wedding hotels and had its ITC Mementos Udaipur wedding featured by WeddingSutra.
IWP's all-inclusive destination weddings in India start at about ₹1 crore (US$105,000) for 50–100 guests over 2 days. A 3-day wedding for 150–250 guests is about ₹3–5 crore, a 4-day wedding for 300–500 guests is ₹7–10 crore, and 500+ guests or a full buyout is ₹10 crore and above. Our planning fee is included in these bands.
It depends on the setting you want and your guest count. Jaipur and Udaipur have the most palace and resort venues and suit weddings of any size. Goa is best for a beach wedding and is easy for guests flying in. Hill towns such as Mussoorie and Shimla suit smaller weddings and summer dates.
At least 6–7 months before the wedding. For a top palace or beach resort on a peak date between November and February, book 12 months ahead, because those dates sell out first.
Yes. Many of our couples live in the USA, UK, Canada and the Gulf. One senior planner runs the wedding through video calls and live venue tours, and we handle guest travel, hotel arrivals and hospitality on the ground in India.
October to March for Rajasthan, Goa and most of the plains, with November to February the busiest. Hill towns are at their best from March to June and again in autumn. July to September is the monsoon in most of India: rates are at their lowest and we plan functions under cover.
