How far in advance should we book a wedding planner in Jaisalmer?
At least 6–7 months before the wedding. Jaisalmer has only a few large resorts, so for a buyout on a peak winter date book 12 months ahead.
Which Jaisalmer venue suits a large wedding?
Jaisalmer Marriott Resort & Spa (137 rooms) and Suryagarh (101 rooms) are the largest, each with a ballroom or several lawns for a Premium or Royal wedding. Storii and Jaisalkot suit smaller weddings that book the whole property.
Can we have a sangeet on the sand dunes?
Yes. We plan dune sangeets with a stage, seating, lighting and generator power, and bring guests back to the resort afterwards. Desert nights in winter drop to about 5–7°C, so we add heaters and shawls.
What is the best time of year for a wedding in Jaisalmer?
October to March. Winter days reach about 24°C and nights are cold. April to August is extreme desert heat, up to 42°C, and not suited to outdoor functions.
