Shriya and Aditya met through a mutual family friend in a classic arranged-marriage introduction — and by their third date, they both knew. What followed was a five-event destination wedding in the City of Lakes, planned end to end by Indian Wedding Planners, that unfolded like a royal fairytale across five distinct worlds.

How It All Began

Shriya and Aditya — lovingly called Toshu — were introduced through a mutual family friend. As Shriya puts it, “Marriages are made in heaven — and I truly believe that.” From their very first meeting there was no hesitation and no second-guessing, just an easy, natural connection. By their third date they had both found the person they wanted to spend forever with. Sometimes love doesn't need time. It just needs the right person.

The Wedding Vision

The couple split their celebrations across two cities — a grand reception in Jaipur and the wedding itself in Udaipur.

For the Jaipur reception, they wanted scale, elegance and unmistakable grandeur. A sprawling farm venue brought that vision to life — a stately setting that matched the lavish celebration they had always pictured.

For the wedding, there was never any doubt: it had to be Udaipur. Aditya spent part of his childhood in the city, and Shriya had always been drawn to its shimmering lakes, majestic palaces and old-world romance. After nearly a month of exploring luxury wedding venues in Udaipur, they found their answer at Mementos Udaipur by ITC Hotels. The moment they stepped onto the property, they fell in love — the Mewar-inspired architecture, the sprawling landscaped lawns, the quiet distance from the city's noise, and the genuine warmth of the staff made the decision effortless.

Standout Moments

What made this wedding remarkable was its storytelling. Each of the five functions carried its own theme, mood and personality — five celebrations, five distinct worlds.

Sangeet — “An Evening in Udaipur”

The festivities opened with a sangeet inspired by the very city hosting it. Soft, effortless florals, a breezy elegance and an atmosphere full of music and laughter set the tone for the days ahead.

Haldi — A Burst of Sunshine

Vibrant shades of yellow, marigold accents and infectious, cheerful energy — the haldi was pure joy from start to finish, exactly as this beloved ritual should be.

Varmala — A Regal Rajputana Affair

For the varmala, the couple embraced a majestic Rajputana theme — rich colours, traditional motifs and an unmistakably regal ambience that paid homage to the royal heritage of Rajasthan.

The Wedding — A South Indian Temple Dream

The couple's absolute favourite. A traditional South Indian wedding ceremony, curated down to the last detail — from the outfits and décor to an authentic South Indian feast — transported guests into the serene ambience of a South Indian temple. In the heart of Rajasthan, guests experienced the soul of the South: a rare and unforgettable cultural blend.

Cocktail Night — Dancing Till Dawn

The celebrations closed with a high-energy cocktail night — an evening dedicated to letting loose, dancing and celebrating with everyone they love.

Bridal & Groom Style

Every function featured carefully selected designer ensembles. Shriya wore creations by Aisha Rao, Varun & Nidhika, Kshitij Jalori and Seema Gujral, with bridal jewellery from Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas completing each look. Aditya's wardrobe showcased Shantanu & Nikhil, Kunal Rawal and Rohit Bal, his jewellery also by Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas, adding a refined royal touch across every celebration.

“Start six to seven months in advance — it makes the entire process smoother and far less stressful. Pre-decide everything early: the venue, décor concepts, photographer, choreographer. A clear mood board and a defined vision help every element come together. Hire teams you can trust, with a strong track record and genuine word-of-mouth. And front-load the big decisions, so that closer to the wedding you can simply be present and soak in every moment,” says Shriya.
