A destination wedding in Vietnam pairs beach resorts with a heritage skyline in one country, which is why IWP now fields more enquiries for Vietnam than for almost any other Asian destination. This guide sets out where families are choosing to marry for an Indian wedding in Vietnam, which IWP hotels sit in each city, what a destination wedding in Vietnam costs, the best months by region against the 2027 muhurat calendar, and how the ceremony and its legal registration in India fit together.

Vietnam suits couples who want more than a single beach backdrop for their wedding in Vietnam. Lantern-lit heritage towns, a private island and a capital-city ballroom are all a short domestic flight apart, so a sangeet in one city and the wedding itself in another is a realistic plan rather than an ambition.
The right city depends on guest numbers, the season, and whether the family wants a heritage backdrop or a big-resort ballroom. The table below compares IWP's four Vietnam wedding regions.
| City | Character | Largest single venue | Best season | Gateway airport |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Da Nang & Hoi An | Coastal city plus a lantern-lit heritage town, about 50 minutes apart | Up to 900 banquet (Sheraton Grand ballroom) | February–May | Da Nang (DAD) |
| Nha Trang | Bay-front resort city with the country's largest ballrooms | Up to 1,170 banquet (Crystal Ballroom convention centre) | January–August | Cam Ranh (CXR) |
| Phu Quoc | Private-pool-villa island, built for intimacy | Up to 600, theatre-style (Premier Village's Aqua-sphere) | November/December–April | Phu Quoc (PQC) |
| Hanoi | Capital-city ballroom, with Ha Long Bay as a day excursion | Up to 900 for a reception (JW Marriott's Grand Ballroom) | October–April | Noi Bai (HAN) |

Da Nang is the most convenient of the four cities: an international airport, five IWP-partnered hotels, and a wide beachfront that suits both an indoor ballroom and an outdoor mandap.

Hoi An's old town, about 50 minutes by road from Da Nang airport, adds a lantern-lit setting for a sangeet or the couple's pre-wedding shoot. IWP's Hoi An property is Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai, Hoi An, 100 villas on a private stretch of Ha My Beach, 15 minutes from the old town itself. See all five Da Nang and Hoi An venues on IWP's Da Nang page.

Vinpearl Resort & Spa Nha Trang Bay has about 650 keys and a beachfront position, a 45–60 minute drive plus a 12–15 minute speedboat crossing from Cam Ranh airport. Nha Trang Marriott Resort & Spa, Hon Tre Island has 829 keys across 52 hectares, reached by a 40-minute drive to its own pier and an eight-minute speedboat crossing. Between them, this is where IWP would plan a Royal or Ultra-luxe wedding. See IWP's Nha Trang page for venue detail.

Premier Village Phu Quoc Resort is 215 private-pool villas on the island's southern tip, about 35 km or 45 minutes by car from Phu Quoc airport, with the sea on both sides of the peninsula. Phu Quoc suits families who want the whole guest list on one property rather than split across hotels. More on IWP's Phu Quoc page.
Families who want a capital-city wedding with an excursion for their guests choose Hanoi.

Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1994 comprising more than a thousand limestone islands off Quang Ninh province, is the standard sightseeing excursion from Hanoi for the wedding party; IWP treats it as a guest activity, not a wedding venue.

In the city itself, JW Marriott Hotel Hanoi has 450 rooms, including 56 suites, and a lakeside Grand Ballroom that takes up to 900 for a reception. See IWP's Hanoi page for the full venue.
These are IWP’s indicative, all-inclusive bands (venue and rooms, food and beverage, décor and production, entertainment, guest logistics and planning), which we price exactly for your dates:
Nha Trang and Da Nang generally suit the Premium and Royal bands, with the largest ballrooms available for an Ultra-luxe buyout; Phu Quoc and Hoi An work well for Intimate and Premium weddings where privacy matters more than scale.
Each region has its own dry season: Da Nang and Hoi An are driest February–May, with heavy rain from September to December; Nha Trang is dry January–August, with its rain concentrated October–December; Phu Quoc is driest from November or December to April; and Hanoi is cool and dry October–April.
None of the 95 Hindu wedding dates on the 2027 panchang fall in August, September or October, which is also the wettest stretch for three of these four cities. Nha Trang's January–August dry season overlaps with 78 of those 95 dates, the best match of the four. Da Nang and Hoi An's February–May window overlaps with 48 dates, and Phu Quoc's and Hanoi's dry seasons each overlap with 55 dates, concentrated in January–April and in the 10 November–14 December cluster. See IWP's full 2027 Hindu wedding dates for the complete list.
Indian passport holders need Vietnam's e-visa (single entry US$25 or multiple entry US$50, each valid up to 90 days), applied for online before travel. Air India, IndiGo, Vietnam Airlines and VietJet fly nonstop from Delhi and Mumbai to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in roughly 4.5–5.5 hours, and IndiGo also flies Kolkata–Hanoi nonstop. Da Nang, Nha Trang and Phu Quoc have no nonstop Indian flights at present, so guests connect through Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City on a short domestic leg. IWP's Vietnam planning guide sets out the full e-visa steps and flight options city by city.
Vietnam does not register a marriage between two visiting foreigners who hold no Vietnamese residence permit, so the wedding IWP plans in Vietnam is a religious and social ceremony, not a legal one. Couples register the marriage in India instead, under the Hindu Marriage Act (where domiciled in India) or the Special Marriage Act, either before or after the Vietnam wedding, and the Ministry of External Affairs advises carrying the registration certificate at all times once it is issued.
IWP brings Indian chefs to work with the hotel kitchen, flies in a pandit and builds the mandap; fire, fireworks, music hours and the baraat are agreed with the hotel in advance. Guest logistics, from airport transfers to the domestic leg for a multi-city wedding, are planned as one itinerary rather than left to each family to book separately.
Da Nang and Hoi An suit medium to large weddings with the easiest logistics; Nha Trang has the country's largest ballrooms for a big Royal or Ultra-luxe wedding; Phu Quoc suits an intimate, private wedding on one property; and Hanoi suits a capital-city ballroom wedding with a Ha Long Bay excursion for guests.
IWP's indicative all-inclusive bands are Intimate (50–100 guests, 2 days) from about US$105,000; Premium (150–250 guests, 3 days) US$315,000–525,000; Royal (300–500 guests, 4 days) US$725,000–1.05 million; and Ultra-luxe (500+ guests or a full-property buyout, 3–4 days) US$1.05 million and above. IWP prices each wedding exactly for the chosen dates and venue.
