Çırağan Palace Kempinski Istanbul is an Ottoman palace with a modern hotel wing on the European shore of the Bosphorus in Beşiktaş. The palace was completed in 1871 under Sultan Abdülaziz; the hotel opened in 1991. For an Indian wedding, two facts matter: 317 rooms and suites keep a large guest list on site, and the Çırağan Ballroom seats 740 at a banquet, with the Palace Terrace on the water seating up to 900.

With 317 rooms and suites, Çırağan can keep a wedding of 300 to 500 guests under one roof. Above about 630 staying guests, we add rooms at nearby hotels on the European shore. How the celebrations fit Çırağan Palace Kempinski

• Mehendi as a daytime party in the Secret Garden or at the Bosphorus Pier Lounge.
• Sangeet in the Enderun or Mabeyn Ballroom inside the historic palace.
• Pheras on the Palace Terrace facing the Bosphorus in the late afternoon, or in a ballroom from November to March.
• Reception in the Çırağan Ballroom (740 seated, 956 standing), or on the Palace Terrace in warm weather.

Best dates

Istanbul is most comfortable from April to June and in September and October; winter is the wettest season and suits a ballroom wedding.
