Sahaj and I didn’t begin as a love story, we began as two people who simply found comfort in each other’s company. We were just friends who met occasionally, mostly to rant about life, share random thoughts, and escape our routines for a while. He had just returned from Texas and joined his family business, while I was fully immersed in litigation at the High Court. Back then, love wasn’t even a possibility, it was just easy, uncomplicated friendship. Somewhere in those casual conversations, he discovered how deeply I loved animals. And that’s when Coffee entered the story.
He told me about his dog, how Coffee slept with him, cuddled with him, how his entire life revolved around Coffee. And slowly, our conversations began to revolve around Coffee too. Then life happened. I moved to Noida to pursue my Master’s, and the little time we used to find for each other became even rarer. Distance crept in, and we both got caught up in our own lives. Until December 2022.
I called him, almost casually, to remind him of our annual plan to attend the Jaipur Literature Festival, just like we had the year before. I told him I’d be coming to Jaipur, not knowing that this one call would change everything.
When I returned, we went out for dinner. It felt like any other meeting, but it wasn’t. That night, something shifted. For the first time, we didn’t just talk, we *opened up*. We spoke about life, about who we really were beneath everything. And somewhere in those conversations, there was a quiet, undeniable realization, we were no longer just friends.
Around the same time, he told his friend Kartik that he liked me… that he wanted something more. And he didn’t just feel it, he acted on it.
He started visiting Noida more often, and we began talking more, video calls that slowly became a part of my everyday life. And of course, Coffee was always there… or so I thought. We’d talk about how Coffee slept beside him, how attached he was, how their lives were intertwined. And without even realizing it, I began to look forward to those calls.
Somewhere along the way, I started falling, a little for Sahaj, but a lot for Coffee.
By March, we made it official. What started as something so simple had quietly turned into something real.
And then came the plot twist.
A few weeks later, I met his cousins at a dinner, and that’s when Sona casually told me, *Coffee isn’t Sahaj’s dog.*
Apparently, Coffee belonged to the family, but slept with his chachi on the second floor, and wasn’t even that fond of Sahaj.
He had been lying… just to impress me.
And somehow, instead of being upset, I just laughed, because by then, it didn’t matter anymore.
I had already fallen… for both of them.
But choosing him, staying with him, has been one of the simplest, yet most meaningful decisions of my life.
In him, I found a kind of love that does not demand attention, yet quietly fills every corner of your life. As is said in Pride and Prejudice, “You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you.” With him, these words are not always spoken, but they are always felt.
He is the most caring and the most gentle person I know. He does not believe in grand gestures, but he believes in showing up, in the smallest, most consistent ways. He makes sure I am happy, often without me even asking. He remembers the little things I like, does things that bring me comfort, and sometimes even gives me things I didn’t know I needed, but truly did.
With him, love is not overwhelming or loud. It is quiet, steady, and deeply reassuring.
It is in the way he listens, the way he understands, the way he simply stays.
Years later, when we both knew, without a doubt, that this was forever, our families met. And in the most reassuring, beautiful way, they agreed, without hesitation, without a single doubt, just as we always had.
And then, he asked me the question that changed everything once again.
He proposed at Giardino, Jai Mahal Palace, the very place where we had gone for our first date. It wasn’t extravagant, it wasn’t loud, it was simple, thoughtful, and full of meaning. Just like us.
And the ring he gave me… isn’t just something I wear every day.
It’s a reminder, of where we started, of everything we’ve grown through, and of a love that found us when we weren’t even looking for it.
And sometimes, when I think about it all, it still amazes me.
That something so ordinary, so unplanned, so simple…
could turn into something so certain, so meaningful, and so lasting.
And somehow, it all comes back to that one unexpected dinner…
where everything quietly, beautifully began. #ProsAndCons??

Taj Devi Ratn: What struck us first about Taj Devi Ratn Jaipur was the setting, nestled in the Aravalli hills, the property felt private, calm, and incredibly romantic. The stepwell-inspired courtyards, sandstone textures, and layered terraces created natural stages for every function, while the golden light on the stone walls made everything look cinematic without heavy décor.
What I loved most was how beautifully the venue flows, guests never felt crowded, yet everything remained close and seamless. If I had to describe it in one line, Taj Devi Ratn doesn’t just host a wedding, it creates an atmosphere. It feels intimate yet grand, modern yet rooted, luxurious yet warm. As a couple, we didn’t just have a beautiful wedding, we felt like we were part of a story unfolding in the Aravalli’s.

To all the upcoming brides and grooms, one thing I learned is that your wedding is not just an event, it’s a series of fleeting moments. Don’t get so caught up in perfecting everything that you forget to live it. Take small breaks for yourself. Step away for five minutes, breathe, look around, and let it sink in, these are the days you’ll never get back.
Delegate tasks. Trust your family, friends, and planners. You don’t have to answer every call or solve every tiny issue. The more you let go, the more you’ll actually enjoy your own wedding.
Also, don’t push yourself to lose weight in the last three months. Stress and drastic changes only make things harder. Focus on feeling healthy and comfortable, not different.
Most importantly, do proper outfit trials. Wear everything together, jewellery, shoes, dupatta, and make sure measurements are perfect. Comfort changes your entire experience.
And above all, enjoy the days. Laugh more, worry less, and be present. The decor fades, timelines blur, but how you felt will stay forever.

Our experience with the Indian wedding planner was truly unforgettable. They made sure that everything, literally everything, was taken care of, often before we even realized it needed attention. Through all the chaos and emotions, they stood beside us like family, supporting, guiding, and celebrating every moment with us.
What touched me the most was how personally they took everything. They didn’t just execute tasks, they understood our vision, our emotions, and the importance of each function. Every detail felt thoughtful, every space looked breathtaking, and the entire wedding came together more beautifully than we had ever imagined. Beautiful honestly feels like an understatement.
To all the brides and grooms-to-be, you truly couldn’t be in better hands. They are simply the best, and they will make sure your wedding feels just as special as you’ve always dreamed. With them, you’re not just planning a wedding, you’re trusting a team that will go above and beyond to make it the most memorable and magical celebration of your life.
